Living in & buying/selling in Andover, MA
A classic New England town just south of Lawrence, with two train stations and the I-93/I-495 interchange inside its borders.
Andover, briefly
Andover sits just south of Lawrence, with a traditional downtown along Main Street, two commuter rail stations and the interchange of I-93 and I-495 inside the town. Few places in the region combine rail, both interstates and a classic town center so closely.
It is one of the oldest towns in the area — incorporated in 1646 — and that shows in its historic centers, from the village around Main Street to Shawsheen Village and Ballardvale.
Andover, this week
Live from public sources and refreshed every week. When a town has no separate series, the panel shows county figures and says so.

What the housing stock looks like
Andover is mostly single-family. Colonials from many decades dominate, from historic homes near the center, in Shawsheen Village and in Ballardvale, to larger contemporary colonials on bigger lots in the outer parts of town. There are also condominium and townhouse communities and a smaller number of two-families.
Because so much of the stock is single-family on established lots, buyers here usually weigh age and condition against lot and location. On historic homes, ask the town early whether any local preservation rules apply before planning exterior changes.

Schools in Andover
Andover’s public schools are run by Andover Public Schools. For school assignments, enrollment and programs, go straight to the district — it is the only source I point clients to.
I don't rank or rate schools; the district and the state are the sources to trust. The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education publishes school and district profiles for every public district in the state.
