Living in & buying/selling in Chelmsford, MA
Just south-west of Lowell, where I-495 crosses Route 3 — one of the region’s easiest places to drive from.
Chelmsford, briefly
Chelmsford sits just south-west of Lowell, at the intersection of I-495 and Route 3, with the Merrimack along its north-east edge and the Concord River at its eastern boundary. That junction puts Boston, Nashua and the 495 belt within an easy drive.
It is a town of villages — Chelmsford Center, North Chelmsford, South, East and West Chelmsford and the Westlands — with the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail running through the center.
Chelmsford, this week
Live from public sources and refreshed every week. When a town has no separate series, the panel shows county figures and says so.

What the housing stock looks like
Chelmsford is mostly single-family: colonials, capes, ranches and split-levels, with antique homes around the historic center and older village housing, including some multi-families, in North Chelmsford. There are also condominium and townhouse communities.
Because the stock is mostly established single-family, the usual trade-offs are age and condition against lot and location. We confirm sewer or septic on every home before an offer.

Schools in Chelmsford
Chelmsford’s public schools are run by Chelmsford Public Schools. For school assignments, enrollment and programs, go straight to the district — it is the only source I point clients to.
I don't rank or rate schools; the district and the state are the sources to trust. The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education publishes school and district profiles for every public district in the state.
